Dear Parents, Staff and Visitors
As you would be aware the border between NSW and Victoria closed as of 12:01am 8 July. NSW residents returning from Victoria after this time must have a permit to enter NSW and are required to self-isolate for a period of fourteen days. This means that any visitors, staff or children at Ganeinu who return from any part of Victoria from 8th July 2020 are required to self-isolate and must not visit or attend our service for fourteen days from the date they entered NSW. In accordance with usual health protocols around COVID-19, ANY staff or children who are unwell with symptoms of respiratory illness, whether they have travelled to Victoria or not, should remain at home and get tested for COVID-19. Thank you for your understanding in these challenging times. Rabbi Mendy Schapiro

Covid-19 Update, Reopening of Thursday Classes
Dear After School Parents,
We are excited to let you know that we are finally able to fully reopen our physical doors on Thursdays for the duration of this term (11/6, 18/6, 25/6, and 2/7) and will run from 3:30pm-5:00pm.
All going well, we will G-d willing go back to regular hours next term.
Safety is our #1 priority and we want to assure you that we will be taking all necessary measures to ensure the children's health and safety.
Each child will hand sanitise upon arrival as well as have their temperature checked.
Based on our current medical advice (from a senior paediatric doctor) it is very important that we have strict social distancing for all adults and parents that attend the facility. Therefore we will start a new drop-off and pick-up system. The car park will be set up like a drive-through and a staff member will be there to assist in drop-off and pick up, ensuring minimal contact between adults.

Term 2 Classes
Dear Parent,
As you know there is a lot of uncertainty and confusion around the timetable for return to school for Term 2, and it is hard to pinpoint a timeline of how things are going to play out.
We are working to do what we can to keep providing a wholesome Jewish education for your children.
As of now this is the plan for our Hebrew School. Things may change as the weeks go on and we will keep you updated.
For the time being, there will be no face to face lessons on Thursdays.
To continue learning, we will be doing online classes on Thursdays at a reduced rate of $20 per week. No government subsidy applies to online classes in Term 2.
For those that require after school care, as we are an after school care provider, we will have the option to provide child supervision on a Wednesday afternoon, from 3:30-5:00pm for a limited number of children, those interested please contact me.
As this is all uncertain, we will only be charging for half the term at this stage, as we will re-evaluate before we charge for the remainder of term.
You will be receiving a follow-up email with information on how the classes will work, a link to the classes, and a proper system for Aleph Champ.
Best Regards,
Chanie Schapiro

In-Person Classes and Services Being Ceased
Dear Parents
Unfortnately, due to the circumstances we have had to cease classes and services from Chabad at the moment - see here for the letter from our director - Rabbi Nochum Schapiro.
This was based on the recomendations of leading Rabbi's and Medical experts. If it will save the life of even one community member, it is worth it.
That being said, we are doing our best to keep our educational programs running, and have moved classes online.
We have had a few classes already, and they have been very successful and we are optimistic!
So that you know, it is not a lecture, it will be an interactive classroom experience using the videoconferencing site zoom.
We understand that this won't work for some, (due to existing work commitments etc...)
We can only suggest that maybe those children join one of their friends that can do it, you can have more than one child together on the computer.
We hope and pray to have our physical doors back open very soon!
