Prepare & Celebrate with Chabad
24/25 October, 2014

As the countdown gets closer, the Shabbat Project weekend is now only 3 weeks away. The community in general has alot in store, and we at Chabad are delighted to invite you to join us to celebrate and participate in this wonderful initiative. The Jerusalem Talmud teaches (Ta’anit 1:10) “the scion of David (Mashiach) will come if they (Israel) keep just one Shabbat, because the Shabbat is equivalent to all the mitzvot.”

Let us make it happen, let us keep it together, and bring Moshiach, which will certainly usher in the peace and harmony of Shabbos to all days of the year.

Please see below for the many ways you can get involved.

What is the Shabbat Projectm

The Shabbat Project is an international grassroots Jewish identity initiative that unites Jews to keep one Shabbat together from sunset to after the stars come out.

The idea originated last year in South Africa, where the majority of the country’s diverse Jewish community joined together to observe a single Shabbat, most for the first time in their lives.

The International Shabbat Project will take place on 24/25 October 2014 in more than 210 cities and 30 countries around the globe. Sydney is proud to be one of these cities.

By experiencing the magic of Shabbat, we will rejuvenate family and community life, enhance Jewish pride and identity, and build Jewish unity across the world!

Be part of something big this weekend: A great adventure, so big that it encompasses our very extended Jewish family and builds on over 3,000 years of tradition and precious heritage. Be sure to sign up every member of your family. Help us reach 10,000 Sydney-siders.

Sign-up at www.shabbatprojectsydney.com.au.

Once registered, stay tuned for your Shabbat Showbag (please note there are only a limited number of Shabbat Showbags). A collection of wonderful Shabbat goodies to get you all ready for the Shabbat weekend.

FOR MEN & WOMEN
Each Shabbat meal is imbued with its own particular theme and mood. During the third meal, as Shabbat lingers but a while longer, the feeling is reflective and spiritual.

At the table of many Chassidic Rebbes, it was during the third meal that the deepest and most mystical teachings found expression, in both words and song. We take this time of Shabbat's waning to savour its last moments.

Join us as we enjoy these final moments of Shabbat together with light refreshments and L’Chaim.

No charge.
