Guest Speaker: REBBETZIN MASHIE BUTMAN, Chabad Shlucha (emissary) to Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Originally from Chicago, Mashie studied in Chicago, New York, Israel and Vienna. Mashie and her husband Rabbi Benzion moved to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2009, as the Rebbe’s Shluchim (emissaries) and lives there with their six children.   Chabad Cambodia was established in 2009 to fill the void of Jewish Centres of any kind in the kingdom. There is no recorded history of any Jewish institution previously.  Serving the 100 Jews living in Phnom Penh, Chabad also caters for thousands of Jews who pass through Cambodia annually.

The Hon Tony Abbott, MP was elected Prime Minister in 2013 and served for two years.  Tony Abbott has been Member for Warringah in the Australian Parliament since 1994. We are particularly delighted to have the Hon Tony Abbott MP, as guest of honour. He has proven himself to be a friend of the Jewish people a great ally to Israel.

Musical Entertainment: ILAN KIDRON, Singer, song-writer and music producer

Ilan Kidron, also known as iKid, is an Australian singer, song-writer and music producer who lives between Paris, Los Angeles and Sydney. Kidron is the lead singer of Irish-Australian electro-house and dance music group, The Potbelleez. Kidron will perform a special tribute to the late Leonard Cohen (1934-2016) - singer, songwriter, musician.
